Week VIII: Patriots – 21 and Done
October 31st, 2004

Superstitions are very powerful, even if you don’t believe in them. One such superstition is that washing an article of clothing will bring bad luck. If the Steelers win another few games it is going to start smelling a little funky in Heinz Field. One of my friends has a special airtight blue box that holds his gameday attire. It stays in that box because otherwise the smell would be unbearable by the end of the season.
Wow! I can barely begin to describe what a great place Heinz Field was on Halloween. October 31st brought the end to the longest winning streak in NFL history and added to a spectacular season so far by the Steelers. The frenzy was everywhere surrounding the stadium. Even as tickets are getting harder to come by, people are still coming down to the stadium to tailgate and be a part of the experience. More than a few come to be with friends and tailgate, but rush home at kickoff to watch the game. My experience has been that the community around the stadium may not be able to make everyone a true fan, but at least it will make you feel welcome. Come on down, but bring your appetite.
Final Outcome: Steelers defeat New England Patriots 34 – 20
21 and Done!
Steelers 6-1
