Week XX Part 1: Signs of Pittsburgh Pride

If you have never visited Pittsburgh, you should. Besides seeing the beautiful city, you will be enthralled by the immense show of pride in every window. Pittsburgh loves the Steelers and during the playoffs everybody shows it. Securing Homefield advantage brought two extra games to Pittsburgh and a boost of hope and money into a city that is struggling to emerge from bankruptcy and job losses.

I had two friends visit Pittsburgh this week and I decided to drive around town and show them what it’s really like. They didn’t believe me at first, but we found Black and Gold Pride everywhere we went. All anybody talked about was the Steelers. From Dippy in Oakland, to Godzilla in Shadyside, every dinosaur was sporting their colors. Driving through Bloomfield, every storefront showed their support. And even on a frigid snowy day, People ventured down to the strip to stock up on Steelers stuff. Everyone on two legs or four was proud to be a Steelers Fan.
